Neulich hatte ich ja schon Drehproben zu einem hier in der Nachbarschaft gedrehten Zombiefilm und die suchen noch Komparsen-Zombies. Yes, you can be a Zombie, too.

Dazu einfach eine Mail an Elisa-Sonali schicken, die Regie-Assistentin des Films: koppel10@aol.com, in die Mail kurz Name und Telefonnummer reinschreiben (falls sich was ändert, Kameras kaputtgehen oder die Crew von Untoten verspeist wird) und am Samstag, den 31. Oktober um 13 Uhr in der Kopischstraße 1 in Berlin (Maps) einfinden, dazu alte und entbehrliche Klamotten mitbringen, denn die werden mit Blut beschmiert. Komparsen-Gage gibt’s keine und auch keine vollständige Maske. Aber wenn Ihr schon immer mal nen Zombie spielen wolltet: This is your chance.

In Pittsburgh, Monroeville fand grade ein Zombiewalk statt – und zwar in genau dem Einkaufszentrum aus George A. Romeros „Dawn of the Dead“. Das Wall Street Journal hat schöne Bilder und ein Video mit Aufnahmen aus dem frisch eröffneten Zombie-Museum „Monroeville Zombies“, das im Time and Space Toys store in der Mall beheimatet ist. Muss man sich mal vorstellen: Das Einkaufszentrum aus Dawn hat ein Zombie-Museum.

Dozens of cities around the world stage zombie walks, but this area boasts a special connection to the reanimated corpses because it is where Mr. Romero, maker of six films with “dead” in the title, got his start.

Monroeville, 14 miles east of Pittsburgh, drew roughly 2,000 walkers for its annual event on a recent Sunday. It had set the inaugural Guinness World Record for zombie walks in 2006, drawing 892 walkers, and broke that record two years later with 1,341 participants. It was bested only in August by the 4,026 zombies gathered in Ledbury, England.

Mark Menold, who hosts a local TV show that airs horror movies on Saturday nights, organized the Monroeville event and asked zombies to bring food for a local food bank. Dressed in an undertaker’s black tails, his face painted white, Mr. Menold told the crowd gathered in the parking lot that other cities might turnout more zombies but, “We are the zombie capital of the world!”
