Die Galerie zur Ausstellung „Zombies in Love“ habe ich jetzt schon seit ein paar Tagen im Feedreader geflagged und wollte warten, bis sie die Exponate auch online zeigen. Haben sie jetzt getan und die Dinger sind oft leider nicht so gut, wie ich sie mir gewünscht hätte, schade.

Inventor Le Trung spent Christmas Day with the most important woman in his life – his robot Aiko.
The science genius enjoyed a festive dinner with his mum, dad and his £30,000 fembot which he designed and built by hand.
Le, 34, from Brampton, Ontario, Canada, even bought gifts for his dream girl, who is so lifelike she speaks fluent English and Japanese, helped cook the turkey and hang up decorations.
‘Aiko is like any woman, she enjoys getting new clothes,’ he said.
‘I loved buying them for her too.’

Das hier sind Christine und Thomas, das Phantom: Zwei sich küssende Roboter. Ich hatte mir ja das mit dem Robot-Sex etwas anders vorgestellt, so mehr auf so eine intertechnologische Art (Ihr wisst schon, Menschen und Robots), aber hey, Roboter dürfen natürlich auch miteinander und dass sie auf Vorspiel stehen finde ich irgendwie hervorragend. The first kiss happened back on 27 December 2008, during a robotic performance of several scenes of Phantom of the Opera at National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (known as Taiwan Tech). Chyi-Yeu Lin, a mechanical engineering professor, directed the performance in front of a packed house of about 400. The overcrowded auditorium burst out in a resounding cheer when Christine (played by Janet) and the Phantom (played by Thomas) kissed.
Lin’s team spent three years developing the autonomous robots hand-eye coordination, intrinsic self-balancing mechanisms, and other technologies. He says that most of the movements during a scene are programmed into the robot ahead of time.

Hier ein kurzer Clip aus dem Anime Kemonozume, von dem ich selbstverständlich noch nie gehört hab, was aber überhaupt nix macht, denn ich bin ohnehin kein großer Anime-Freund. Aber das hier ist dann doch sehr nett, denn das Video erklärt, wie sich Erwachsene küssen und was dabei genau im Mund stattfindet. Und das Ende passt ja dann quasi auch metaphorisch in jeder Beziehung, sozusagen.

In der New Yorker Laurence Miller Gallery läuft anläßlich von 40 Jahren Summer of Love eine Ausstellung der Woodstock-Fotos von Burk Uzzle.
Burk Uzzle shot the festival from the vantage point of a participant. In one particularly telling photograph, a sea of humanity as dense as a carpet of wildflowers in a meadow spills over a hillside; in another, a young hippie couple standing in a tender embrace under a grandmother’s quilt became the icon of a generation. Rather than document the music, Uzzle chose to focus on details of living, existence, and enjoyment over that three day period. In so doing, he captured the spirit of the festival and ultimately an era.

Japanese Abandoned Love Hotel
Ich weiß, ich weiß. Ich habe selbst geschrieben, Abandoned Stuff könne nach Hause gehen. Aber wenn mir ein verrottendes japanisches Liebeshotel unterkommt, in dem auch noch ein Soundtrack von „Return of the Jedi“ herumrottet, dann kann ich ja wohl nicht anders. Überhaupt ist die Abandoned Fotografie von Michael John Grist ziemlich toll, darunter verlassene Wasserrutschen und ein Vulkan-Museum (am Fuß eines Vulkans).

Das Science Museum hat neulich eins von Charlie Murphys „Kiss Ins“ veranstaltet („Part party, part dentistry, the ‘kiss-in’ is a highly stylised performance, that celebrates the unique forms of the kiss“). Darin küssen sich Pärchen, wärend Murphy im Arztkostüm die Küsse in Alginat (das Zeug, das einem beim Gebissabdruck in den Mund gepresst wird) festhält und daraus schließlich Skulpturen aus Glas formt. Die aussehen, wie ein Bastard aus Alien, Blob und Riesenschnecken from outer space.

Objectlove-Doku: Married to the Eiffel Tower
Okay, über diese Story bin ich jetzt einmal zu oft gestolpert. Irgendwann letztes Jahr fand ich in diesem Internetz die Geschichte einer Frau, die mit der Berliner Mauer verheiratet war (1989 muss ein hartes Jahr für sie gewesen sein). Und jetzt eine Dokumentation, über eine Frau, die mit dem Eifelturm verheiratet ist und die mit einer Dame einsteigt, die mit der Golden Gate Bridge vermält ist. Und nein, das ist alles kein Scherz.
Die Doku wurde im Sommer 2008 ausgestrahlt und ist jetzt online bei Youtube. Ich liebe das Internet. Also… nicht so! (Obwohl, da muss ich mal drüber nachdenken.) Snip aus einem Review bei Times Online:
Erika (surname: La Tour Eiffel) had married the Parisian landmark the previous year. Revisiting the girders where the ceremony took place, clutching her wedding veil, she gyrated against the structure. She could feel the cold of the Tower meeting the warmth of her body to produce an “equilibrium”. But if object-love really was like human love, then Erika was putting it about a bit, because she was also having a torrid time with the Golden Gate Bridge and the Berlin Wall, fragments of which she called “my boys”; the Eiffel Tower she called “she” – maybe she is a bisexual objectum sexual.
At the Golden Gate Bridge she agonised about the two of them ever being alone, what with the traffic and sight-seers. “Our love is no different than the love between two beings,” she claimed. Erika wanted to be an object, not human; her friend Amy was proud never to have been touched by another person (although she did hug Erika).
Im Review wird übrigens behauptet, dass nur Frauen diese doch sehr ungewöhnliche Form der Liebe entwickeln, das ist nicht wahr. Letztes Jahr gab es eine Story mit einem Mann, der Autos liebte. Also: physisch. Link kann ich bei Bedarf raussuchen. Embedding ist leider disabled by request (Fuckers!).

Zombie-Dating per Internet
Endlich bekommen die Untoten auch einen Webservice und ein bisschen Liebe, normalerweise schiesst ihnen ja immer nur einer in die Rübe, dabei brauchen Zombies auch ein paar Streicheleinheiten. Bei Zombie-Harmony bekommen sie jetzt genau das: ein Online-Datingservice für die Verwesten, man kann nach rennenden und langsamen Zombies suchen, nach mehr oder weniger verrotteten und wenn die Seite wirklich funktionieren würde, wäre das ganze noch ein viel größerer Spaß und ich hätte mich schon längst angemeldet. So ist es aber immer noch nett. Das ganze ist natürlich Werbung für eine Non-Zombie-Dating-Site, aber da sind mir die Damen noch zu lebendig. Braaaainz!

Campbellsche Frühlingsgefühle
Grade führten die Ereignisse rund um das japanische „Army of Darkness“-Poster zu seltsamen hormonellen Schüben im Hauptquartier der Filmfreunde. Weil Malcolm das Ding nämlich quasi zeitgleich bei den F5 postete, schickte ich eine kurze Mail in die Runde, woraufhin eine Kette von Ereignissen ausgelöst wurde, die an Düsterniss und Boshaftigkeit kaum überboten werden können. Ihr müsste jetzt ganz stark sein, hier der komplette Dialog:
