Den Hulk-Manga hatte ich schonmal in den Links versteckt, wusste aber nicht, dass der so selten und rar ist, weshalb der komplette Scan des Comics online schon eine kleine Sensation ist. Snip von Malte:
Die Hulk Mangas wurden in den 70er Jahren in dem wöchentlichen Bokura Magazin veröffentlicht und sind wirklich eine absolute Seltenheit! Da die Scnas natürlich komplett auf Japanisch sind, hat sich David Brothers von 4thletter die Mühe gemacht und sich ein wenig mit der abgewandleten Geschichte beschäftigt:
From what I and my lovely assistants managed to figure out of the story, it stars Dr. Araki, survivor of Hiroshima. Both of his parents died in the blast, and he’s come to Nevada to work on the gamma bomb. General Ross, Major Talbot, and Igor retain their names, but Rick Jones has been turned into Ricky Tenda. He’s got a Japanese mom and an American dad. Betty Ross is now Mitsuko, though Dr. Araki calls her Mitchan.
The story seems to be the usual. An honorable and kind scientist helps create something terrible, and that terrible thing blows up in his face when he rescues a young ne’er do well. A Russian spy refuses to halt the explosion, and the scientist turns into the Hulk, a beast who knows only pain and anger.
Die kompletten Scans (insgesamt 232 Bilder!!!) des japanischen Hulks, findet ihr hier: HULK (ハルク). Ich habe für Euch mal alle Bilder in ein Archiv gestoppft und hochgeladen (LINK 94MB). Die Scans sind zwar alle auf Japanisch, jedoch ist das Artwork von Yoshihiro Morifuji wirklich grandios. Aufällig ist, dass sich Kazuo Koike in der Story stark auf die tragische Seite der der Hulk Figur konzentriert hat und damit eine eher düstere Geschichte für Erwachsene geschaffen hat. Auch das Zeigen von expliziter und meist brutal dargestellter Gewalt ist ein ungewohnter Kontrast zum amerkianischen Original aus den 70ern, passt aber absolut in das Gesamtbild des japanischen Hulks.
