Chris Holmes is infamous for his contribution to the 1988 documentary The Decline of Western Civilization Part II: The Metal Years, during which he was interviewed while floating in a swimming pool, fully dressed and extremely intoxicated. This interview stood out in stark contrast to the more light-hearted and humorous interviews conducted by director Penelope Spheeris, which mostly portrayed rockers as good-natured party animals.

HOWTO make a Ghostbusters costume
I made two complete packs, suits, belts and goggles in just over two weeks working mostly nights and weekends. I also made a ghost trap and pedal- it clips onto the belt just like in the movie. The guns come off the packs and the packs light up, as does the trap. I made two lighting circuits for each pack using a simple homemade 555 timer circuit, a few LED’s and 9v batteries. The trap weighs around six or seven pounds and the packs weigh about twenty- five pounds.

Visionary artist TOM SACHS finally managed to transcend Earth’s orbit through art when his “Space Program” show opened at GAGOSIAN GALLERY this weekend. Featuring a life-sized replica of the Apollo 11 moon lander, mission control, and NASA’s uniform room, all customized to his personal specifications using ordinary hardware store materials (including weaponry and hard-liquor delivery systems), the enormous display was the must-see big bang that announced LA’s fall art season.

Since many blogs have a readership of one — or, at best, the writer, his mother and some guy he sat next to in seventh grade who found him on Google — piggybacking on a more popular site offers a wider audience for a keyboard jockey’s gripes and quips. Not everyone is up to the task of creating a blog with the kind of consistent tone and provocative topics that attract visitors.
“There are people who react rather than act,” Mr. Israel said. “As much as we talk about joining the conversation on the Internet, the most popular bloggers start a conversation.”

Als Bürger, der sich nichts zu Schulden hat kommen lassen, möchte man nur ungern auf einer Liste auftauchen, die potentielle linksradikale Gewalttäter identifiziert. Und schon gar nicht, weil man möglicherweise nur durch Zufall auf dieser Website landete. Bei Google dürften offizielle Seiten weiter vorne gelistet sein und “Militante Gruppe” wird nicht der einzige Weg sein, wie man auf besagter – und aus verständlichen Gründen hier nicht verlinkter – Website landen kann. Was also tun, um seinen Unmut zu bekunden? Stefanolix verweist auf die Möglichkeit dem BKA eine E-Mail zukommen zu lassen.
Aber: Will ich das überhaupt? Wie schon bei den Bissigen Liberalen in der Kommentarsektion angemerkt: Das Bundesinnenministerium spielt ja auch mit dem Gedanken den Bundestrojaner auch per Behördenmail zu verschicken. Und jetzt haben wir ein Conundrum. Traue ich mich, einer Behörde zu schreiben, die mich möglicherweise überwachen wird? Gehen wir mal positiv davon aus, dass der Bundestrojaner nur an “potentielle Gefährder” verschickt wird. Dadurch dass ich besagte Website des BKA besucht habe, stehe ich inzwischen doch möglicherweise auf dieser Liste. Und weil ich auf dieser Liste stehe, hält es das BKA möglicherweise für notwendig mir den Bundestrojaner auf die Platte zu pflanzen.
