Ralph McQuarrie Darth Vader-Helm

quarrie

Digital sculptor Jay Kushwara “captured the true sinister essence of the Darth Vader that Ralph McQuarrie envisioned in his original sketch,” said Bryan Ono, president of eFX, the company producing the $900 collectible helmet, in a press release Thursday.

Only 250 of the three-piece Ralph McQuarrie Signature Edition Darth Vader Concept Helmets (pictured) will be made. Pre-orders from eFX will begin at 9 a.m. PST Monday, with a non-refundable deposit of $250 required at time of pre-order. The helmets are expected to ship in late May.

Big Head Halloween Costume

bighead

Blondine in Low Resolution, anti-aliased… fantastisch!

Plain Wrong Star Wars-Halloween-Costume-Ad

anzeige

Need an amputee to complete my Halloween costume (Brooklyn)
So this might seem strange and really offensive to some but hopefully someone will reply. I have always loved the scene in Empire Strikes Back where Chewbacca has to carry around a half reconstructed C3PO in a backpack because he hasn’t reattached his lower body yet. For Halloween I would love to dress up like this. I am big enough and strong enough to both pull off the Chewbacca look and to carry around a lot of weight for the night. So basically I am looking for a double amputee (someone missing both legs – preferably at the hip) to accompany me as C3PO for the evening. We should meet ahead of time so that we can work out the backpack/harness system. There are a few parties that I want to hit and I think we will be the hit of any event we attend. Anyone up for this?

Das beste Kostüm der ComicCon

Einmal Jar Jar Binks Kopf auf einem Silbertablett bitte, serviert von Darth Chef persönlich. This is so right on so many levels.

In all my years, the most satisfying costume I have seen at any Comic Con (via Reddit)

George Lucas is an evil genius. There is simply no other reasonable explanation for what has just occurred in my formerly contentedly geeky family. I can barely bring myself to write this… Earlier this week, my kids decided that they think Jar Jar Binks is great.

Banksy Costume

Emoticon mask will make you smile

The “Mask of Emotion”, a project from the Digital Media Design Dept at Hongik University in Korea, trades facial expressions for LED emoticons. The default setting is no expression, but if people shake hands with the wearer, the mask smiles. The project was designed to hide personal emotions by eliciting a different set of public facial expressions that could be used to generate conversation and response in public spaces.
