Schönes neues Mashup von Thriftshop XL. Auch unbedingt deren Youtube-Channel checken und dort vor allem Amy Winehouse v Peter Bjorn and John und Fade to Ice Cream (New Young Pony Club v Visage).

Im Gegensatz zu Amy Winehouse, Peter Bjorn and John und Visage habe ich von Ume noch nie gehört. Die sind Anfang des Jahres auf dem SXSW Festival in Austin, Texas aufgetreten und damn tritt ihr Song „The Conductor“ in den Arsch. Großartig! Ich habe mir gleich mal die aktuelle Sunshower EP von Ume gekauft und die ist nach erstem hören richtig gut. „The Conductor“ ragt zwar auch hier heraus, ich muss die 5 Songs aber noch ein paar mal hören, denke ich. Hier Brian McManus von der Philadelphia Weekly über Ume:
Imagine if Blonde Redhead grew some balls or if Sonic Youth got hungry again. Actually, scratch that. Thinking hurts. Instead just make sure you’re in the same room as Houston trio Ume when they hit town and plug in. Guitarist/violent squaller Lauren Larson is a force of nature, leveling ears with blasts of sonic six-string fury and gut shrieks that far outpace the vocal capabilities of most humans. Her husband Eric holds down the low end with solid, treble-heavy basslines that meld in lockstep with drummer Jeff Barrera’s enormous skin pounding (get your mind outta the gutter). Their debut full-length Urgent Sea is about as good as it gets. Every song creates its own distinct mood while managing through the magic of smart sequencing, to work together seamlessly as a whole.

Ja! Bang your head baby! Aber Sonic Youth kann ich in der Musik kaum erkennen (zumindest in diesem Song). Macht aber auch nichts. Trotzdem schön.
Btw.: Sind Sonic Youth nicht mehr hungry!?
Komischerweise dachte ich sofort an Sonic Youth. Die haben auf jeden Fall beste Chancen öfter von mir gehört zu werden.
Großartiges Mash-Up, das erste oben. Allerdings muss ich dazu sagen, dass ich The Forest total liebe, das hilft dann dabei :)
Edit: Da hab ich doch glatt grade festgestellt, dass es The Forest auch von Bat for Lashes als Cover gibt (und auf meiner Platte rumliegt), wurde auf dem Album “Perfect for Cats: A Tribute to the Cure” aufgenommen. Gibts auch auf Myspace: http://www.myspace.com/perfectascats

Geiler Mash Up, hab schon lange keinen guten mehr gehört. Vor allem das grüne Licht ist voll spookie.
Ume find ich nicht schlecht, aber auch nicht wirklich gut. Was mich nur interessiert, wie kommen die in meinen Proberaum? Der sieht fast genau so aus. Als Dämmung haben wir einen alten Miltärfallschirm.
