Blood Drive

Get uncomfortable…!

In the tradition of classic grindhouse movies, BLOOD DRIVE is a new series soaked in high-octane chaos and just barely approved for television.

After Los Angeles’ last good cop (Alan Ritchson) is forced to join a twisted cross-country death race, his only hope of survival is a dangerous femme fatale who has the need for speed (Christina Ochoa). Oh, and forget gasoline… these cars run on human blood!

Ansonsten: Neue Trailer zu Kasra Farahanis (The Good Neighbor) Psychothriller Tilt, zum ComingOfAge-Drama Violet (der bereits 2014 auf der Berlinale gewann, aber wohl erst jetzt einen offiziellen Release bekommt), Sofia Coppolas The Beguiled, den Horror-Schlocks A Dark Song und 7 Witches, dem UK-Actioner 6 Days, sowie ein japanischer Trailer zu The Mummy (der immer noch nicht interessanter aussieht).

Newsbits:

  • Fahrenheit 451 by the Makers of 99 Homes, awesome News: Michael B. Jordan, Michael Shannon to Star in 'Fahrenheit 451' Movie for HBO: „The drama is based on Bradbury's 1953 dystopian novel, which depicts a future where media is an opiate, history is outlawed and "firemen" burn books and revolves around Montag, a young fireman who forsakes his world, battles his mentor and struggles to regain his humanity.

Jordan (Creed, Friday Night Lights) is set to star as Montag, while Shannon will return to HBO following Boardwalk Empire to play Beatty, Montag's fireman captain and mentor. The casting reunites Shannon with Fahrenheit co-writers Ramin Bahrani and Amir Naderi after he starred in their feature 99 Homes. Bahrani is also set to direct the telepic via his Noruz Films banner.“

  • Sure, nice: ‘The X-Files’ Coming Back Again For New Event Series Next Season: „Just more than three years after the last revival of the Chris Carter-created series was announced, Fox said Thursday a new 10-episode run of the Gillian Anderson- and David Duchovny-starrer is set to start production this summer.“
  • Okay, sure, will watch: WATCHMEN IS GETTING AN R-RATED ANIMATED ADAPTATION
  • Ugachaka! James Gunn Will Direct GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 3: „So, yes, I’m returning to write and direct Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. In the end, my love for Rocket, Groot, Gamora, Star-Lord, Yondu, Mantis, Drax, and Nebula – and some of the other forthcoming heroes – goes deeper than you guys can possibly imagine, and I feel they have more adventures to go on and things to learn about themselves and the wonderful and sometimes terrifying universe we all inhabit. And, like in both Vol. 1 and Vol. 2, we will work on creating the story that goes beyond what you expect.“
  • Fuck! The Tales From The Crypt reboot has hit a legal roadblock: „The reason for this deadlock is some legal maneuvering around the original comic-book versions of my terror tales, whose intellectual frights are apparently more complicated than the dead-time stories in the Necronomicon!“
  • TNT Not Proceeding With ‘Let The Right One In’ Pilot, Vampire Drama Shopped: „TNT has opted not to proceed with its pilot order to Let the Right One In, a drama based on the best-selling novel by Swedish author John Ajvide Lindqvist. The project, written by Criminal Minds and Teen Wolf creator Jeff Davis, was picked up to pilot in August but it didn’t go into production.“

Tilt

All seems normal with Joseph and Joanne. Joanne is pregnant with their first child. Life in their little urban house is cozy and familiar. But something is off about Joseph. He doesn’t seem excited about the baby. Work on his documentary is becoming increasingly untethered. As Joseph struggles to maintain the routines of his domestic life, his mask begins to slip. Late at night, while Joanne thinks he is working, Joseph prowls the streets of Los Angeles, deliberately courting danger. Joanne is growing worried about Joseph’s odd behavior. But not as worried as she should be.

Violet

During a routine trip to the mall, 15-year-old Jesse’s best friend is violently attacked at random. The attackers do not confront or acknowledge Jesse, and Jesse does not engage or pursue the attackers… he simply backs away. Why did this happen? Could Jesse have done more? Did he have an obligation? These are the questions posed by VIOLET, a carefully calibrated character study of the process of coping in the midst of senseless trauma. Shot partially on 8-perf 65mm film by acclaimed cinematographer Nicolas Karakatsanis (Bullhead, The Drop), Bas Devos’ meticulously calculated debut is constructed like a series of lush photographs. In each of the film’s compositions we see a sophisticated mosaic of loss, the permanence of trauma, and the tumult of youth.

The Beguiled

“The Beguiled” is an atmospheric thriller from acclaimed writer/director Sofia Coppola. The story unfolds during the Civil War, at a Southern girls’ boarding school. Its sheltered young women take in an injured enemy soldier. As they provide refuge and tend to his wounds, the house is taken over with sexual tension and dangerous rivalries, and taboos are broken in an unexpected turn of events.

A Dark Song

A heartbroken woman and recluse occultist perform an ancient, dark ritual to bring her child back to life – but missteps have consequences and unknown evils are unleashed.

Robin

A traumatized woman is found in a forest, she claims to have witnessed a murder. As the police investigates further they do not find any evidence to prove her story. The woman is convinced that she will be the next victim and starts her own investigation to find out what has really happened - trying to find the murderer before he finds her. As she comes closer to the truth everuthing is finally revealed and has severe consequences that will change everything.

7 Witches

As their big day approaches Cate and Cody should be celebrating—they’ve got their family with them, they’ve rented an island for the big day, but unbeknownst to them, their wedding falls on the day when a 100-year-old curse comes to fruition. Instead of celebrating, they find themselves fighting for their lives as a coven of witches rise for revenge.

6 Days

In April 1980, six armed gunmen stormed the Iranian Embassy in Princes Gate, London, taking 26 people inside hostage. Over the next six days a tense standoff took place, all the while a group of highly trained soldiers from the SAS prepared for a raid, the likes of which the world had never seen before.
