  • Disco Cutie! New Movie From THE GREASY STRANGLER’s Jim Hosking Sounds Amazing: „Hosking's next film is An Evening With Beverly Luff Linn, starring Aubrey Plaza, Craig Robinson, Emile Hirsch, Jemaine Clement and the great Matt Berry […] The story follows Lulu Danger, whose unsatisfying marriage takes a fortunate turn for the worse when a mysterious man from her past comes to town to perform a mysterious event called An Evening With Beverly Luff Linn; For One Magical Night Only.“
  • criminal-coverYES PLS Nicolas Winding Refn and Ed Brubaker team up for inevitably stylish crime series: „Amazon has hired Drive and Only God Forgives director Nicolas Winding Refn to write, direct, and produce a crime drama series for its streaming service. […] the setup seems perfectly tailored to Refn’s hyper-violent neon noir tendencies: Titled Too Old To Die Young, the show takes place in the criminal underworld of Los Angeles, 'explor[ing] various characters’ existential journeys from being killers to becoming samurais in the City of Angels.' […] The presence of comics veteran Ed Brubaker […] as Refn’s co-writer and executive producer would seem to play up the grittiness of the story, but we’re sure Refn will find any excuse he can to shoot striking images of cool guys holding samurai swords in front of striking colored backgrounds as well.“

  • Der neue Film von Nicolas „The Eyes of my Mother“ Pesce: „Mia Wasikowska and Christopher Abbott have wrapped production on Nicolas Pesce’s psychological thriller 'Piercing', Variety has learned exclusively. 'Piercing' is based on Ryu Murakami’s 1994 novel of the same name. Abbott plays a man who kisses his wife and baby goodbye, seemingly headed away on business, with a plan to check into a hotel, call an escort service and kill an unsuspecting prostitute. His plan is thwarted by the alluring and mysterious call girl — played by Wasikowska — who arrives at his room, leading to a pulsating game of cat-and-mouse.“
