spock

Jede Menge neuer Trailer zu Ulrich Seidls Sportkiller-Doku Safari, zur zweiten Narcos-Staffel, der für meinen Geschmack viel zu sentimental aussehenden Spock-Doku For the Love of Spock, Ti Wests (House of the Devil, The Innkeepers, Sacrament) neuem Film In a Valley of Violence – ein Western mit Travolta und Ethan Hawke –, der Mondlandungsfake-Mockumentary Operation Avalanche (ich weiß nicht, ob man nach Dark Side of the Moon nochmal ’ne Mockumentary braucht und der Hauptdarsteller macht mich aggressiv, aber okay), dem Boxer-Drama Hands of Stone mit DeNiro, Louis C.K.s neuer Serie Better Things, der Polit-Serie Graves mit Nick Nolte als Ex-Prez, dem nett-trashig aussehenden Horrordings Before I wake, dem Journalismus-Drama Lord Jones Is Dead und ein bisschen Prolo-Action mit xXx 3.

Narcos Season 2

In the second season, notorious drug kingpin Pablo Escobar is on the run, with the Colombian authorities in relentless pursuit -- and determined to put an end to his illegal activities.

Newsbits:

Safari

Afrika.

In a Valley of Violence

A mysterious drifter named Paul (Ethan Hawke) and his dog Abbie (Jumpy) make their way towards Mexico through the barren desert of the old west. In an attempt to shorten their journey they cut through the center of a large valley – landing themselves in the forgotten town of Denton – a place now dubbed by locals as a “valley of violence.” The once popular mining town is nearly abandoned, and controlled by a brash group of misfits and nitwits – chief among them, the seemingly untouchable, Gilly (James Ransone) who is the troublemaking son of the town’s unforgiving Marshal (John Travolta).

As tensions rise between Paul and Gilly, Denton’s remaining residents bear witness to an inevitable act of violence that starts a disastrous chain reaction, infecting the petty lives of all involved and quickly drags the whole town into the bloody crosshairs of revenge. Mary-Anne (Taissa Farmiga) and Ellen (Karen Gillan), two bickering sisters who run the town’s only hotel, try to find the good in both men, while desperately searching for their own salvation. Only the world-weary Marshal struggles to stop the violent hysteria, but after a gruesome discovery about Paul’s past…there is no stopping the escalation.

Better Things

Better Things centers on Sam Fox (Pamela Adlon), a single, working actor with no filter raising her three daughters, Max (Mikey Madison), Frankie (Hannah Alligood) and Duke (Olivia Edward) in Los Angeles. She’s mom, dad, referee and the cops. Sam also watches out for her mother, Phil (Celia Imrie), an English expatriate, who lives across the street. Sam is flawed and fierce with her love for her daughters, and her own mother, as well. Sometimes, heaping the love on when she feels guilty. Sam’s just trying to earn a living, navigate her daughters’ lives, have fun with a friend or two and also — just maybe — squeeze in some private time once in a while. Adlon serves as Executive Producer alongside Louis C.K., Blair Breard, Dave Becky and 3 Arts Entertainment.

Lord Jones Is Dead

Two journalists and a photographer are sent to stake out a woman's house and told not to return without a story. When the woman shows no sign of appearing, they take matters into their own hands.

Operation Avalanche

1967: the height of the Cold War. The CIA suspects there is a Russian mole inside of NASA, sabotaging the Apollo program. They send two young agents on a mission to go undercover, posing as documentary filmmakers to capture NASA’s race to the moon. The real mission – use their access and technology to hunt down the leak. But what they discover is far more shocking than soviet spies… Their government may be hiding a secret about Apollo that could define the decade, and the White House will stop at nothing to silence anyone who learns it.

Hands of Stone

Hands of Stone follows the life of Roberto Duran (Edgar Ramirez), the Panamanian fighter who made his professional debut in 1968 as a 16 year‐old and retired in 2002 at the age of 50. In June 1980, he defeated Sugar Ray Leonard (Usher Raymond) to capture the WBC welterweight title, but shocked the boxing world by returning to his corner in their November rematch, famously saying the words “no mas” (no more.)

Before I wake

Jessie (Kate Bosworth) and Mark (Thomas Jane) Hobson adopt a new foster child, Cody (Jacob Tremblay), after their son Sean dies. They soon find out that Cody's dreams become reality, but his nightmares are deadly. Jessie and Mark must figure out what to do before one of his nightmares kills.

Graves

Former President Richard Graves has the epiphany, twenty years after leaving office, that his policies have damaged the country for decades. This, as his wife, the former First Lady, has political ambitions if her own.

For the Love of Spock

An examination of the enduring appeal of Leonard Nimoy and his portrayal of Spock in Star Trek.

Death Note 2

Set ten years following the events of the previous Death Note films, Sato's picture launches with the discovery of six death notes - note books with a dark supernatural power that leads to the death of anyone whose name is written within its pages - and the general chaos that ensues.

xXx 3 - The Return of Xander Cage

Xander Cage is left for dead after an incident, though he secretly returns to action for a new, tough assignment with his handler Augustus Gibbons.
