ComicCon 2.1: Guardian of the Galaxy 2, Game Of Thrones Blopper-Reel, Firefly, Arrow & The Flash, Kevin Smith’ Tusk, Horns, Garbage Pail Kids
Hier die restlichen Newsbits vergangener Nacht vom zweiten Tag der ComicCon, unter anderem mit dem kompletten Game Of Thrones-Panel moderiert von Craig Ferguson mit News zu neuen Cast-Members und einem Gag-Reel, Peter Bagge schreibt ein Garbage Pail Kids-Comic, Trailern zu Kevin Smith’ Walross-Horror-Comedy Tusk, Alexandre Ajas Horns mit Daniel Radcliff, The Flash und einem Blopper-Reel zu Agents of SHIELD. Das beste Bit aber gleich am Anfang: James Gunn to Write, Direct ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ Sequel. GotG steht bei Rotten Tomatoes nach 25 Reviews übrigens bei fucking 100%! HELL YEAH!
We learned that episodes 8 of both The Flash and Arrow will be a two-hour crossover event as Detective Lance and others will travel to Central City, and we’ll have a few smaller crossovers like in the fourth episode of The Flash, when Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards, who couldn’t be there today) pops over to Central City, as well. The second episode of Arrow’s third season will feature a “heretofore unknown encounter” between Oliver and Tommy Merlyn, meaning that Colin Donnell will be returning to the show. We also learned that Brandon Routh’s Ray Palmer/The Atom will be a romantic possibility for Felicity, which is interesting because, as you can see in the above footage, Oliver finally asks her on a date next season. But don’t get too excited: Kreisberg said of the happy ending for Season 2: “Everything’s coming up Arrow, and as Joss Whedon once said, ‘The moment you give one of your characters happiness, you have to yank it from them.'”

Retrobands zweite Heavy Metal-Actionfigur, der B12-Gunner-Zombie:
Topps’ Garbage Pail Kids, the 1980s sensation, will have readers squirming with delight this winter as the obscene adolescents star in a brand-new comic-book series from IDW . With the likes of Adam Bomb, Leaky Lindsay, and New Wave Dave populating the Garbage Pail Kids universe, the delightfully deformed and often downright disgusting Kids are set to make their mark on the world of comics, just in time for their 30th Anniversary in 2015…
Hate cartoonist Peter Bagge, who provided the initial image of all-new character Comic-Con Ron, will be a part of the new series, planned as an anthology of loosely connected stories by a variety of talented creators from around the industry, including some of Topps’ official “GPK” artists.
Plot: „Ignatius William Perrish wakes up bleary and confused after a night of drinking and “doing terrible things” to find he has grown horns. In addition to being horribly unsightly, these inflamed protuberances give Ig an equally ugly power–if he thinks hard enough, he can make people admit things (intimate, embarrassing, I-can’t-believe-you-just-said-that details). This bizarre affliction is of particular use to Ig, who is still grieving over the murder of his childhood sweetheart (a grisly act the entire town, including his family, believes he committed).“
Plot: „When his best friend and podcast co-host goes missing in the backwoods of Canada, a young guy joins forces with his friend’s girlfriend to search for him.“
On his panel, Smith also revealed Tusk is the first film in what he hopes will be a trilogy of films he called “The True North Trilogy.” Likely a reference to a similar Canadian setting, Tusk would be followed by Yoga Hosers (which Smith wants to make next, and be PG-13) and a new movie called Moose Jaws which he described as “Jaws, with a moose.” All three films would return the same actors as Tusk. Assassin’s Creed Unity teams up with famed musician and Master of Horror Rob Zombie to depict the chaotic and brutal events behind the French Revolution. Illustrated by The Walking Dead co-creator, Tony Moore, this animated short brings to life the gory details, bloody battles, and terrifying events of the revolution.
During the Paramount Pictures panel at Comic Con, Tom Kenny, the voice of Spongebob Squarepants, shared the first look at the new film SpongeBob: Sponge Out of Water. […]
Apparently Spongebob and friends escape the pineapple under the sea and their animated sea city of Bikini Bottom and enter the human world. The movie starts in the usual animated world but the characters “transform to computer graphic superheroes to fight off a menace endangering beloved Bikini Bottom.”
The footage that was premiered in Hall H can only be described as weird. I’m not sure anyone was into it, but almost everyone was left with a look on their face which could be read only as “what the hell was that”.
Lucy Lawless is now confirmed to be playing SHIELD agent Isabelle Hardley. Nick Blood is playing Lance Hunter, who is a mercenary in this iteration. And Dollhouse alum Reed Diamond will play this season’s big bad Daniel Whitehall.
The big news came courtesy of a video with Patton Oswalt in character as Agent Koenig, who hinted that Mockingbird was going to be around to help out new Director Coulson.
Looks like the greater Marvel Universe is officially coming to the upcoming Marvel’s Agent Carter – at least behind the camera. It was announced today during the Marvel TV panel at Comic-Con that Captain America: The Winter Soldier directors Joe and Anthony Russo will be helming the second and third episodes of the ABC series set to debut in 2015. Captain America: The First Avenger director Joe Johnson will helm the fourth episode, with Marvel
Sony Pictures is setting Edgar Wright to direct Grasshopper Jungle, the acclaimed Andrew Smith YA novel that is being adapted by Beautiful Girls scribe Scott Rosenberg. […]
Grasshopper Jungle, which is best described as Stand By Me meets Attack The Block, seems right in Wright’s wheelhouse. It’s a coming-of-age story that focuses on an Iowa teen trying to come to grips with his own raging hormones and sexual feelings as he and his cohorts cause a deadly genetically engineered plague that unleashes an army of 6-foot-tall praying mantises. Those bugs live the life these guys wish for, acting on an insatiable appetite for fighting, food, and fornicating.
Wright will next direct Baby Driver for Working Title Films, a script he wrote that’s described to me as a collision of crime, action, music and sound. He’s also reading a movie version of the classic Darren McGavin series The Night Stalker.
Dark Horse and Mattel are teaming up to deliver The Art of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe!
In 1982, the world was introduced to He-Man and Masters of the Universe. It went from toys, to television, to film and became a pop-culture icon. The Art of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe includes rarely seen images of concept sketches, prototypes, and more from Mattel’s archives. Featuring beautifully restored art from master illustrator Earl Norem—celebrated artist of the most memorable He-Man images!
The Art of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe arrives in comic shops on April 1, 2015 and in bookstores April 14, 2015.
Firefly Online (FFO) is an online strategic roleplaying game set in the universe of Joss Whedon’s cult classic TV show – Firefly.
Players take on the role of a ship captain as they hire a crew and lead missions, while trading with and competing against millions of other players like themselves. Much like the crew of Serenity, the Firefly-class transport ship featured in the original show, players must do whatever it takes to survive in the Verse: find a crew, find a job and keep flying.
It was announced late Thursday at Comic-Con that Nathan Fillion, Gina Torres, Adam Baldwin and the rest of the original cast of the Joss Whedon show would be returning to provide voices for the game, with Alan Tudyk providing “multiple voices” for different characters.
The returning cast also includes Michael Fairman, who will be voicing the character Niska, responsible for hiring the crew in the game.
Star Trek/Planet of the Apes Crossover-Comic
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to “mind-meld” with a sentient ape? Or wanted to see a Klingon on horseback, brandishing a rifle? Readers will soon have a chance to peek into just such an alternate future, as IDW Publishing partners with BOOM! Studios for the crossover event of the year: Star Trek/Planet of the Apes. […]
The creative team will be a mix of proven experience and new blood with scripts by beloved Star Trek scribes Scott and David Tipton (Star Trek: The Next Generation/Doctor Who: Assimilation 2) and interior art and covers by the British newcomer Rachael Stott.
“With the Klingons secretly backing a renegade gorilla general in a coup for control of Ape City, Captain Kirk finds himself in the uncomfortable position of having to help out Dr. Zaius’ orangutans,” explains David Tipton. “Taylor won’t be happy with that!”
Olly Moss The Last of Us-Print for Mondo:
Chip Kidd started beatboxing and I almost got it on tape. Illo Magazine was Kidd’s first introduction to Michael Cho. Kidd was intrigued by Cho’s two-tone style and researched his work online where he discovered his love for superheroes. “If anyone can manage to make Iron Fist look interesting or good, then he can make anything look good.” Mark Chiarello from DC Comics contacted Chip Kidd to write an eight-page story for Batman: Black and White. For his story “Don’t Know Where, Don’t Know when” Kidd recommended Cho.
