Motherboard TV: Liberia's Only Analog Blogger | Motherboard: in Monrovia, Liberia, there's a guy who's got it all figured out. When we met him in 2009, Alfred Sirleaf woke up every morning, combed the lopsided dispatches of state-run media, and whipped it into cohesive, free news that he aggregated on a local bulletin board. Every day at 10:45 sharp, Sirleaf started posting, and folks from all over cruised past to pick up the snippets of important news they'd missed. This is the story of what has been called Liberia's only analog blog.

Ancient High Tech on the Behance Network: This is a collection of images and moving images that I found through extended periods of exploration, approximately right around the time I synthesized them. The following images might seem unbelievable but they represent fantastic evidence of an abstract history that we haven't really gotten to know, yet.

The History (And Artistic De-Evolution) of Patent Drawings | Gadget Lab | Wired.com: Since the United States Patent & Trade Office opened in 1790, it has required that every patent be accompanied by an illustration depicting the applicant's invention. But in the past 222 years, patent drawings have changed, degrading from detailed works of art to simplistic line drawings that barely qualify as illustrations.

She gave it to me at my wedding. : pics: The lamp is a glass jar full of all the things that my mom found in my pockets when doing my laundry as a child. Chunklet to Go Go: The Wheel of Punk | VICE: Who is more punk? This is one of those age-old questions without any answer, and one of the reasons I came up with The Wheel of Punk™ in the first place. Out of a sense of national pride I've always wanted to believe that The Ramones were more punk forever amen, but the Sex Pistols make a pretty convincing case too. London in the 70's gets points for being just as fucked up as New York at that time. Say what you will about New York's white flight, bankruptcy, blackouts, the bicentennial, and the Son of Sam; London had rioting skinheads, garbage strikes, fucking English weather and food, and the silver jubilee. They were probably equally shitty places and times to be alive.
