HAL 9000, der psychopatische Roboter aus Stanley Kubricks „2001“, wird heute 17 beziehungsweise 12 Jahre alt; im Buch von Arthur C. Clarke wird HAL am 12. Januar 1997, in Kubricks Film am 12. Januar 1992 in Betrieb genommen. In der Realität bekam er im Jahr 2003 einen Platz in der Robot Hall of Fame.
