Real Flying Saucer Tech Flies from Air Force Research

A Florida scientist is combining his Air Force-funded research and a design inspired by a "flying bundt cake man" to bake light, flaky flying saucer technology that might really work.

Science Daily reports that Professor Subrata Roy submitted a patent application for his wingless electromagnetic air vehicle (WEAV).

Pilots would have to be fairly compact for now as the prototype would only be about six inches wide, but early tests indicate the technology would work on a larger scale. The Air Force helped to fund the research, and those fly boys at NASA are nosing around the project now.
